St Nicholas Advent Festival

Hello Everyone,

My name is Doug Deans.  I am a Member of the St Merrymakers.  I'm here to talk to you about the upcoming St Nicholas Advent Festival which will be held on December 7.  It has been a long standing tradition that we have an Autumn festival to celebrate feast of St Nicholas, and build camaraderie, and to raise funds for the Liturgy program here at St Mary Parish.

We will be selling tickets for the St Nicholas Advent Festival every weekend in November.  Please purchase tickets and attend the St Nicholas Advent Festival.

Because of the Festival, we are able to build community but also to focus our attention on God through the work of Liturgy.  It will help St Mary Parish together praise God through the purchase of items such as bread, wine, vestments, chalices, linens, candles, and to keep liturgical items refurbished and in quality shape.  It is so that we give our best for God and the things that pertain to the soul.

Someone once said: "God loves a cheerful giver."  When we prioritize our life for God, it is life giving and peace for the soul.  With this event, together we can be good stewards, and allow the Sacraments to be celebrated with the greatest dignity that it deserves.

This year our goal is to purchase an Ambry which is to hold the precious oils for the Baptism , Confirmation and healing oil for the sick.  We also want to purchase a holy water bucket so that we can utilize it as a reminder of our Baptism which has given us a new life by water and the spirit.

Stay tune to further news for the upcoming St Nicholas Advent Festival, and please pray for a successful outcome.  Thank you!
